The Heritage Ruckpack. Designed for timeless adventure.
The direction behind this design was to invoke the notion of timeless adventure.
The pack needed to have a classic, yet rugged appeal to it. As if it would last a lifetime.
To achieve that, it began with the material selection and silhouette of the bag. The leather selected came from Horween Tannery, in Chicago. Their Dublin line provide the “old world” feel that I was going for with beautiful pull-up characteristics and excellent durability.
Martexin waxed canvas. Since WWII, Martexin has been supplying top tier waxed canvas to in the United States. I chose a 10 oz version of their original waxed canvas for the main construction of the backpack.
The end result was a roll top design featuring Horween leather, Martexin waxed canvas, and brass hardware. There was a main cavity for larger items, three exterior pockets for quick access items, and three points of adjustability.
